October 10, 2019The Bitsakos family was raised near the sea. Before creating Philosofish, the founder, John Bitsakos, had been involved in the aquaculture industry for decades. He started by taking on the construction of fish farms all over Greece, a task which included everything, from laying moorings to transporting materials. By 1986, he had fully appreciated the growth potential of the business and, in the following decade, became a minority shareholder in three separate aquaculture entities. Philosofish is a fish culture company. A penchant for eating well. An eye for the tiniest detail. A love for the ocean and all that it offers.
Our collaboration started when I was asked to develop 6 recipes with their fish for their new website- 3 with sea bass and 3 with sea bream. In collaboration with director and producer Esmeralda Momferatou we did a 2-day filming in Aegina Island and created a video for each recipe I had developed (https://www.philosofish.eu/recipes).
